Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about CastConductor.

General

What is CastConductor?

CastConductor is a platform that lets you create and manage your own Roku streaming channel using WordPress as your content management system. No coding required.

Do I need coding experience?

No! CastConductor is designed for non-developers. Our visual Canvas Editor lets you design your channel with drag-and-drop simplicity.

What do I need to get started?

  • A WordPress website (self-hosted recommended)
  • A CastConductor subscription
  • A Roku device for testing (optional but recommended)

Licensing & Billing

How does licensing work?

Your license key is tied to the domain you specified at purchase. One license = one WordPress site = one Roku channel (or more, depending on your plan).

Can I change my domain?

Yes, contact [email protected] to transfer your license to a new domain.

What happens if I cancel?

Your channel stays live, but the CastConductor watermark will display. Setup fees are non-refundable.

Is there a trial period?

Yes! All plans include a 14-day free trial. Your card won't be charged until the trial ends.

Technical

What WordPress version do I need?

WordPress 5.9 or higher. We recommend the latest version (6.4+).

Does it work with any hosting provider?

Yes, CastConductor works with any WordPress host. We recommend hosts with good PHP performance (WP Engine, SiteGround, Cloudways, etc.).

How do updates work?

You'll see a notification in your WordPress admin when updates are available. Download the latest version from your account and install manually. We don't auto-update to prevent breaking changes.

Roku

Is CastConductor affiliated with Roku?

No. CastConductor is an independent company. We are not certified, endorsed, or affiliated with Roku, Inc.

How long does Roku approval take?

Roku's approval process typically takes 2-4 weeks, but can vary. This is entirely controlled by Roku and outside our control.

Can I test before submitting to Roku?

Absolutely! You can sideload your app onto your own Roku device immediately. This lets you test everything before submitting to the Channel Store.

What if Roku rejects my app?

We provide guidance on common rejection reasons and how to fix them. Most rejections are due to content policy issues or metadata problems — not the app itself.
